The RIDE is a family-friendly fundraising ride/walk where we gather for local charities that support people who are seeking hope, safety, + freedom all across Canada. Join us Saturday, Oct 4, 2025!
The Portage Learning and Literacy Centre is a not-for-profit organization providing individuals of the Central Plains region with opportunities to realize their education, employment, and immigration goals through a positive and supportive environment.
One of our main programs is the Resettlement Assistance Program (RAP), where we help Government-Assisted Refugees (GARs) transition to their new lives in Canada by providing essential services during their first 4–6 weeks here. We are very proud of our staff and volunteers who all possess the passion to help and commitment to serve.
Some services provided include: arrival assistance, including transportation and temporary housing; life skills support and community orientation; and other referrals to additional resources as needed. This program is focused on ensuring that our GARs feel welcomed, supported, and integrated as they begin their new journey in Canada.
Your contribution truly means the world to us! Together, we can make a real difference. Every donation, big or small, can change lives. Thank you so much for your generosity and see you on Ride day!
Start and Finish will be along International Drive, along the Crescent Lake, near the Island Park Playground.
