About Global Gathering Place

Global Gathering Place is a prairie settlement organization, providing vital services to refugees and immigrants in Saskatoon since 1998. Our work is propelled by two simple truths:

1. Every newcomer is deserving of a joyful and fulfilling life.

2. Refugees and immigrants, when given the opportunity, make valuable contributions to all aspects of Canadian society.

We serve thousands of newcomers each year, providing a diversity of free programs and services to match the diversity of their needs. Most of our clients are coming to Canada through no choice of their own, fleeing conflicts and persecution, and their numbers continue to grow as global emergencies persist. As a drop-in centre and place of refuge, we also assist newcomers with unexpected needs that fall outside of our regular programs and services.

Funds raised through this year’s Ride for Refuge will provide much needed financial flexibility, enabling us to provide immediate support to those who bravely walk through our doors to ask for help. The Ride itself will be a fun and engaging opportunity for our community to show support and help unleash the potential of these strong, resourceful, and inspiring newcomers.
